Who is behind
The Flat Duck
The Flat Duck began in 2021 by a husband and wife team, Jaco and Melanie Smit who sometimes have an odd sense of humour.
Jaco and Melanie live at the tip of Africa and actually used to have ducks as pets. Normal ducks, not flat ducks.
Unfortunately, the ducks disappeared after owl noises were heard in the garden.
The name for the website came about after they were so overcome from choosing names that Jaco blurted out “we may as well call the website The Flat Duck at this stage because nothing else is right”. The name stuck, and the rest is history.
The Boring Stuff
All the drawings and intellectual property on The Flat Duck are owned by the company, DotClick (Pty) Ltd. All the content is copyright and is monitored with tracking software. Please don’t steal it because we will find out and be forced to unleash The Flat Duck.
Both Jaco and Melanie have a medical and IT background and are willing to hand out Darwin Awards to anyone who takes the advice on this website to heart.
We try to answer questions that have never been asked and give advice on situations you may never think of finding yourself in.
We encourage you to enjoy the content on this website and naturally would be deeply concerned and fearful for anyone who finds themselves in situations similar to what is described here. However, we would be more than happy to hear from you if our advice came in handy for any situations that arose in your life.
Just remember, don’t try this at home folks, until you have sought help from a professional.
